TASK RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Investigate flight safety related events and other selected occurrences in accordance with internal Cargolux procedures, especially regarding Flight Data Monitoring issues,
- Maintain and support the development of the Cargolux FDM program,
- Identify and classify causes of events,
- Write and produce investigation reports,
- Identify systemic aviation safety related issues,
- Support the department in issuing effective safety recommendations to prevent re-occurrence and/or mitigate risks,
- Support and contribute to the preparation of internal safety publications,
- Attend and present investigation and data findings at safety meetings,
- Support and promote the department with the design and implementation of safety related training and initiatives,
- Coordinate the department FDM activities, initiatives, requirements and development,
- Undertake safety related and FDM related projects,
- Support and assist in monitoring safety concerns in the aviation industry and their possible impact on the operation,
- Research, review and evaluate external source materials.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
- Commercial Pilots License or higher with Instrument Rating,
- Previous B747, B777 or other heavy airplane type operational experience as flight crew member (advantage),
- Experience as commercial pilot either in Airline Operation or Corporate/Air Taxi Operation (advantage),
- Experience performing data analysis and building various related reports in MS Office products,
- Knowledge of aeronautical theory and aviation operations as applied to commercial aircraft,
- Previous experience within Flight Data Monitoring (advantage),
- Experience in Flight Operations activities,
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Aviation Safety, Aviation Management, Risk Management or equivalent (advantage),
- Safety/Quality management experience,
- Accident / Incident Investigator qualification/experience (advantage),
- Training and/or education in Risk Management, Safety Performance and Safety Promotion,
- Knowledge of modern safety management principles and practices, including Systems Thinking.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Position based in Luxembourg
- Due to specific nature of the position within the company, the position holder rarely may have to work outside the normal working schedule and/or working days
- A Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection
