Brief Description

Sales Manager is primarily responsible for attracting new business accounts to AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) in Germany, with focus on day-to-day spot market inquiries, requests for quotation, and project transportation requests. In daily coordination with the departments Customer Service (CS) and Revenue & Capacity Control (RCC), he/she is also responsible for ongoing improvement of commercial efficiency of flights, monitoring daily flight performance and taking necessary measures to ensure achievement of per-flight revenue targets.

Main Duties

  • Achieve sales targets set by regional management
  • Market and promote services of ABC to freight forwarding community in Germany
  • Collect market information and customers’ feedback, developing short-term market outlook
  • Gather information on sales practices of competitor airlines, conduct benchmarking, revise and suggest improvement to sales technics and pricing methods
  • Develop weekly sales plans in coordination with other Sales Managers, RCC and Customer Service
  • Monitor flight performance and adjusting sales tactics
  • Maintain daily contact with freight forwarders, handling inquiries, offering price quotations
  • Maintain and expand customers’ database, keep record on sales and customer relations
  • Follow-up on quotations, project transportation inquiries, conducting analysis on market reaction to pricing methods
  • Participate in periodical revisions of regional sales strategy
  • Complete tasks and projects as assigned from time to time by regional management
  • Support Sales Manager colleagues in communication with customers, handling inquiries, preparing sales reports
  • Prepare multiple reports and statistics as required by regional and corporate norms

Required Skills

  • Previous experience in cargo airline / freight forwarding industry essential
  • Previous experience in sales and marketing
  • Ability to perform structured, analytical, and autonomous work
  • Completed apprenticeship or equivalent education in the freight-forwarding / airline industry
  • Fluent in German & English (verbal and written )
  • Superior communication skills
  • Profound understanding of principles and methods of sales, pricing, and market dynamics
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to work under time constraints with tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
